About South Australia ADHD Conference
The 2026 South Australia ADHD Conference will be an inspiring and informative day designed for parents, educators, carers, family members, professionals, and individuals living with ADHD.
The day will begin at 8:30am, with doors opening for attendees to explore exhibitor tables showcasing valuable resources, services, and supports. A variety of food options will be available in the surrounding area, allowing you to refuel, connect, and network throughout the day.
At 10:00am, our MC will officially open the conference and introduce the first speaker, setting the tone for a day filled with learning, inspiration, and meaningful connection.
Whether you are seeking professional development, personal insight, or practical strategies, the 2026 South Australia ADHD Conference offers a unique opportunity to learn from leading voices in the ADHD community and be part of an engaging and supportive experience.
The Conference will be a highly valuable and informative day for parents, educators, professionals, family members and friends of an individual with ADHD or suspected ADHD.
Please Note:
Lunch is NOT included, however there are eateries at the venue.
Alternatively you are welcome to bring a packed lunch to avoid long queues or delays.
Due to insurance and topics covered, children under 14yo are not able to attend.
During the break times, as well as between 8:30am and 10am before speakers commence, you are invited to look around at the amazing exhibitors.
Meet Our Expert Speakers
Sandy Booysen
Dietician
Sandy is an Accredited Practising Dietitian and Feeding Therapist with 15 years dietetics experience working in hospitals, community clinics, and private practice. She is passionate about working with individuals and families to develop their personal skills and tools to manage their food-related challenges in a simple, manageable and strengths-focused way. She believes that your food journey cannot be separated from your life journey and that food encompasses so much more than just nutrition. Sandy is especially passionate about supporting neurodivergent individuals and families, and subscribes to a strengths-based, neuro-affirming model of care. Sandy loves to connect and support 'orchid people' - those that need more specific environments and elements of care to thrive and meet their potential - just like an orchid. But aren't orchids so gorgeous when they bloom?

Educator & Company Director
Kate Donohue is the director of Neurodivergent Education and delivers neurodivergent affirming online courses and group training for neurodivergent people, parents and professionals.
Kate uses her comprehensive understanding of neurodivergence to support the implementation of practical, realistic and actionable evidence-based, neurodivergent affirming practices and perspectives. Kate’s approach to training and development is compassionate, personalised and detailed.
Kate has created a unique braid of knowledge woven of three strands that brings together over 20 year of lived and professional experience including:
lived experience as a neurodivergent person and parent of neurodivergent children,
co-leading intersectional autism research
thousands of hours experience directly supporting autistic & ADHD people and their networks
Ashley Cairns
Psychologist & Author
Ashley Cairns is the CEO of A Change for Better (ACFB) and Director of The ACFB Fund, a dual-structured organisation combining clinical services with a charitable model to improve access to mental health and neurodevelopmental diagnostics across New Zealand.
With formal training in psychology and counselling, Ashley has built ACFB into a growing health-tech company focused on addressing critical gaps in ADHD, autism, and mental health assessment pathways. Drawing from both professional expertise and personal lived experience as someone with AuDHD, she has helped lead the development of Lotus, an AI-powered diagnostic platform designed to streamline assessments, enhance clinical reporting, and reduce both cost and wait times for clients.
Ashley’s work sits at the intersection of healthcare, technology, and systems reform. She is actively involved in shaping new models of care, including GP-integrated diagnostic pathways and multidisciplinary service delivery. Through ACFB, she is working toward a future where timely, affordable, and high-quality diagnostic services are accessible at scale.
She has presented at national conferences, including ADHD-focused events across New Zealand, and delivered a TEDx Women talk on the Lotus AI and ACFB build as well as her own diagnostic journey. Her current focus is on scaling ACFB’s services, securing strategic partnerships, and positioning the organisation as a primary referral destination for GPs nationwide.
Callie Elward-Barrett
Speaker, Strategist, Co-Founder non profit
Callie Elward-Barrett is a neuroinclusion speaker, strategist and founder of Executive Functioning Leadership, where she helps leaders, organisations and communities create environments in which neurodivergent people can genuinely thrive. Her work sits at the intersection of inclusion, leadership, systems design and human capability, with a particular focus on turning awareness into practical action. She additionally co-founded ndWILD, (Weird Intense Loud Different) a non-profit global neuroinclusion movement.
Before founding her business, Callie held senior executive roles in the Australian Public Service, including leadership work in the Department of Health and Aged Care and the Digital Transformation Agency. Her career has included leading large-scale, high-stakes work across public policy, reform, stakeholder engagement, and service delivery, including the Australian Government’s COVID response for First Nations, Disability, and Aged Care environments.
Known for her warmth, honesty and ability to connect the dots between childhood, adulthood, education, and work, Callie brings a perspective that is both strategic and deeply human. She is passionate about helping people move beyond deficit-based narratives and towards approaches that recognise the brilliance, complexity and support needs of neurodivergent minds.

Dr Aleem Khan
Consultant Psychiatrist | FRANZCP
Dr Aleem Khan is a Consultant Psychiatrist and Fellow of the Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Psychiatrists (FRANZCP), with a special interest in Attention-Deficit/Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD) across the lifespan. He practises at Elyséa HEALTH in Adelaide, providing comprehensive assessment and ongoing care for individuals with ADHD and a broad range of mental health conditions.
Dr Khan completed his advanced psychiatry training within the Central Adelaide Local Health Network (CALHN), gaining extensive experience across inpatient, community, emergency, consultation-liaison and outpatient psychiatry. His clinical approach combines evidence-based practice with compassionate, individualised care, focusing on accurate diagnosis, holistic treatment and long-term support.
With a strong interest in neurodevelopmental conditions, Dr Khan works collaboratively with individuals, families, general practitioners, psychologists and allied health professionals to help people achieve their full potential. He is passionate about improving awareness, reducing stigma and empowering individuals and families with practical, evidence-based knowledge that extends well beyond the initial diagnosis.
Beyond his clinical practice, Dr Khan is actively involved in medical education, mentoring junior doctors, psychiatry registrars and early-career psychiatrists, while supporting initiatives that advance mental health awareness and improve access to high-quality psychiatric care.
Under Dr Khan’s leadership, more than 45,000 psychiatric consultations have been delivered through his telehealth organisations over recent years, substantially improving access to specialist mental healthcare across Australia. A significant proportion of this work has involved the assessment and ongoing management of individuals with ADHD, autism and other neurodevelopmental conditions across all age groups, reflecting his commitment to expanding timely, evidence-based care for people who might otherwise face prolonged barriers to specialist services.

We are unable to refund tickets once they have been purchased. However, tickets are transferable and you are welcome to re-sell or gift your ticket to someone else.
Do you offer a discount for concession card holders? →
We have worked to keep ticket prices as affordable as possible and are therefore unable to offer discounted rates. However, complimentary entry is available to those who volunteer with us. In exchange for their assistance on the day, volunteers receive free entry, a certificate of attendance, and a workbook. Please email us if you would like to enquire about volunteering.
Are there any childcare facilities at the Conference? →
Unfortunately, our conferences are unable to provide childcare services.
Can I bring my child to the Conference with me? →
This is an adults only event, children under the age of 14 years are unfortunately not permitted at the Conference.
Is there any food included in the ticket price? →
Food and drinks are NOT included for any event. You are welcome to bring food and drinks with you, or you can purchase from the eateries nearby.
Can I receive a professional development certificate for attending? →
Yes, 7-10 days post event you will receive an email with a certificate of attendance you are able to use for Professional Development
Do you allow free entry to companion card holders? →

Has this event been held before? →
Yes! This conference was first held in Victoria in 2019. In 2022, we expanded to Western Australia, South Australia, the Northern Territory, and New South Wales, in 2023 we added North Queensland and Tasmania. In 2024, the conference went international for the first time, with events held in Auckland and Christchurch, New Zealand.
Can I just turn up on the day and pay for my Conference entry then? →
Our Conferences are expected to sell out prior to the date, so we recommend purchasing tickets early to avoid disappointment as we can never guarantee. door sales.
Will I need to bring my tickets with me on the day? →
Yes, to enter the Conference you will need to present your ticket to our team. This can be either printed out or displayed on a mobile device.
Do I have to pay extra to see speakers? →
No, all speaker presentations are included within the price of your Conference entry ticket.
